PM Orders Crackdown on Local Exam Fraud, Land Invasion, Foreign Nominees
Prime Minister Anutin ordered a coordinated crackdown on civil service exam fraud, illegal land seizures by powerful figures, and foreign nominee schemes involving Thai nationals.
On July 16, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Interior Minister met with Permanent Secretary of Interior Arthit Samphantharat, Permanent Secretary of Commerce Wuthijai Leewirapan, and Deputy National Police Commander Samran Nualmaew at Government House to accelerate prosecution and coordinate inter-agency action. The focus includes corruption cases in local civil service recruitment exams, land encroachment by business tycoons and influential figures, and violations involving Thai nationals serving as nominees holding shares or conducting business on behalf of foreign nationals in breach of law. The meeting took place before the Prime Minister's official visit to the People's Republic of China between July 16-20.
