Police Honor Officer For Heroic Life-Saving Rescue
A Pathum Thani police officer received a commendation for rescuing a man attempting suicide from a pedestrian bridge by carefully approaching and safely pulling him to safety on June 30.
The Royal Thai Police spokesperson awarded the "Spokesman's Thumbs Up" commendation to officers at Phra Tueam Chulalong Police Station for their life-saving operation on June 30, 2025. Deputy National Police Spokesman Trairong Phiwphan announced that he visited Phra Tueam Chulalong Police Station in Pathum Thani province to boost morale and communicate the directives of Police Commissioner Kittiratt Panpetch and Deputy Commissioner Ithiphol Ajchariyapradit to all personnel at the station.
The commendation was presented to Sub-Lieutenant Punthat Treekorn of the Prevention and Suppression Division for his exceptional handling of a critical situation involving a man who had climbed onto the edge of a pedestrian bridge in an apparent suicide attempt. Punthat methodically closed off the bridge and positioned officers on both sides. While one team engaged the man's attention from below, Punthat carefully crawled toward him undetected. When the moment was right, he swiftly moved in and safely pulled the man down.
The police spokesman praised Punthat and all officers at Phra Tueam Chulalong Police Station for their exemplary performance, demonstrating the courage, quick thinking, and true spirit of protectors of public peace that define professional policing.
