Police Launch Manhunt for Two Suspects in Russian Siblings Case
Police across multiple provinces are searching for two suspects linked to the disappearance of Russian siblings in Chon Buri, after the pair broke through a checkpoint near Chanthaburi and are believed heading toward the Thai-Lao border.
Police in Saraburee have closed off the province and set up checkpoints to hunt two suspects nicknamed 'Bong' and 'Thang' linked to the disappearance of Russian siblings in Huai Yai district, Chon Buri. The latest reports indicate the two suspects broke through a checkpoint on motorcycles near Khao Lam in Soi Dao district, Chanthaburi, at 1:30 a.m. Officers believe they are heading toward the northeastern region to flee across the Thai-Lao border.
The emergency dispatch center 191 has alerted police stations throughout the province to establish checkpoints and increase patrols. The National Police Office has issued an urgent order for all stations to mobilize officers and coordinate with local authorities, military personnel, community leaders, and volunteers to cordon off and search high-risk areas before the suspects escape.
Saraburee police have maintained checkpoints continuously from midnight through the morning of July 31. Special surveillance areas include Wang Som Boon, Wang Nam Yen, Khao Chakorn, Mueang Saraburee, Watthananakorn, Nong Mak Fai, Khok Sung, Ban Thap Thai, and Ta Phraya stations, which are suspected escape routes. Officers are asking the public to report any sightings of suspicious individuals or motorcycles matching police descriptions to local police stations or call the emergency hotline 191 immediately.
