Region 2 narcotics police seized nearly 198,000 methamphetamine pills and arrested three minors — two 17-year-olds and a 14-year-old — who were transporting the drugs from Bueng Kan to Sakon Nakhon. The trio confessed they were hired by a Thai national based in Laos for 40,000 baht per delivery run and had made the trip several times before.
Region 2 Narcotics Suppression Division conducted surveillance and arrested a drug trafficking group smuggling a large quantity of methamphetamine from Bueng Kan into Sakon Nakhon using a Toyota Vios with Chachoengsao license plates. Officers tracked the vehicle until it was spotted on the Ban Muang–Kam Ta Kla road at the Non Sa-ard Subdistrict Administrative Organization intersection in Ban Muang District, Sakon Nakhon, where they closely tailed it before identifying themselves to conduct a search.
Inside the vehicle they found Mr. A (alias), age 17, the driver, accompanied by Mr. B (alias), age 17, and Master C (alias), age 14, all residents of Ban Muang District, Sakon Nakhon. A search revealed one bag containing 197,960 methamphetamine tablets.
The suspects stated they were contacted by a Thai man residing in Laos to transport drugs from Si Wilai District, Bueng Kan, to deliver to customers in Ban Muang District, Sakon Nakhon. They would receive 40,000 baht per successful delivery and had made the trip multiple times. Police have charged the suspects and are expanding the investigation.
