On May 17, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister Supamas Isarabhakdi visited victims of a freight train collision with Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) Bus Route 206 at the Asok-Dindeang railway crossing near Makkasan Airport Rail Link station. Patients are being treated at Phetchaburi, Ruamjai Rak, and Chulalongkorn hospitals. Supamas stated that the government prioritizes public safety and rights, with the Prime Minister directing all state agencies to accelerate assistance and full compensation efforts. She expressed deep condolences to families of the deceased and encouragement for the injured to recover quickly.
The Consumer Protection Office (OCPB), under Supamas's oversight, has immediately established a special task force working with all relevant agencies to deliver compensation as quickly as possible, eliminating the need for victims' families to navigate the process themselves. The government and OCPB will handle all matters through four key initiatives: accepting complaints from victims and families, providing consumer rights consultation regarding public service compensation and insurance claims, coordinating closely with relevant agencies, and monitoring compensation progress with periodic updates to affected parties.
Consumers affected by the incident or needing consumer rights advice regarding public transportation services can file complaints through the OCPB hotline 1166, the OCPB Connect application, the website ocpb.go.th, or provincial Ombudsman offices nationwide.
