Surat Thani Provincial Police Request Region 8 Establish Task Force to Combat Nominee Company Cases
Surat Thani police requested Region 8 establish a task force targeting nominee company crimes after raids on 30 firms uncovered fraudulent land holdings worth 150 million baht and 25 prosecutions.
On May 14, 2026, Surat Thani Provincial Police Commander Suwat Suksri tasked Deputy Commander Somdet Chamsuang with submitting a letter to Region 8 Police requesting the establishment of an investigation team to suppress nominee company crimes under Deputy Police Commissioner Somran Nualmaa's directive.
Investigation units have conducted sweeping searches of nominee companies, with the following results: 1. Searched 30 target companies (6 upstream and 24 midstream), seizing 788 documents, 7 computers, and 245 stamps. 2. Investigated 36 land plots totaling 51 rai and 2 ngan valued at 150 million baht, resulting in 25 prosecutions (24 criminal cases and 1 land dispute case). 3. Expanded investigation from confessions by 187 companies that held shares without actual investment, currently under ongoing investigation.
Surat Thani Provincial Police have formally requested Region 8 Police establish a task force to prosecute nominee company offenses according to Deputy Police Commissioner Somran Nualmaa's orders to continue legal proceedings.
