A Bangkok taxi driver was arrested for using his green-yellow cab to distribute methamphetamine and crystal meth to teenagers, with police seizing 171 pills and nearly 29 grams of crystal methamphetamine during the raid in May.
On May 18, 2026, police led by Pol. Col. Pramod Junbunkaew, superintendent of Phet Kasem Police Station, along with deputies Pol. Lt. Col. Worangkhon Atchaibunnyawat and Pol. Lt. Col. Thawatchai Tipwong, conducted a drug raid. They arrested 51-year-old Witthaya, alias Noi, and seized 171 methamphetamine pills, 28.99 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and a green-yellow Toyota Altis taxi (Bangkok plate 1 มข 9731). The arrest was made on Soi Navicharoen Sap, Kanchanapisek Road, Bang Khae district, Bangkok.
The investigation began after informants reported a green-yellow taxi driver illegally distributing narcotics to teenagers. Police staked out the area until spotting the taxi matching the description. A search of the vehicle revealed drug packets hidden in the center console. A urine test came back positive for methamphetamine.
Under interrogation, Witthaya confessed to operating a taxi service as his primary job while dealing drugs on the side. He purchased methamphetamine pills for 15 baht each from a supplier known only as "Tee" in Nakhon Pathom Province, then resold them in packets for 50 baht per pill to teenagers. He also purchased crystal methamphetamine for 200-300 baht per gram and resold it for 500 baht per gram. He stated the drug money was used for entertainment and purchasing more drugs.
Police charged him with Class 1 drug trafficking charges for possession of methamphetamine and crystal methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and Class 1 drug consumption charges. He was transferred to investigators for further prosecution.
