Thai Bhumjaithai MP Slammed Over Gambling Shares
Opposition MP Rakchanok Srinok accused the Bhumjaithai Party of disrespecting Thai voters after it emerged that MP Suchada Sang Thantrap's husband once held a stake in an online gambling company. Suchada said she sold the shares before taking office and therefore did not declare them to the anti‑corruption watchdog. A new ethics complaint has been filed against her over the alleged undisclosed shareholding.
Rakchanok Srinok slammed the Bhumjaithai Party for disparaging Thai citizens' intellect regarding the matter of MP Suchada Sang Thantrap, who disappeared for three weeks before reappearing with a justification. Suchada acknowledged that her husband, Thayyang San, previously owned a 1.47% share in a company operating an online gambling website, known as Shuffle, but transferred the stake before her election, thus she did not file the asset disclosure with the National Anti-Corruption Commission. Rakchanok asserted that the party displays contempt for the law, accountability, and even its own supporters, asking how families will educate their children going forward. She warned that the nation continues to allow the party to twist regulations and laws for its own benefit. The MP has faced a fresh ethics complaint to the anti-corruption agency over her husband's alleged 1% stake in an online gambling venture.
