Thai woman found dead in Nakhon Si Thammarat hotel after meeting her exLegacyA Thai woman was found dead in a hotel room in Nakhon Si Thammarat yesterday, April 22, after arriving with her ex-boyfriend, who told staff that the woman had fainted and left the scene. Officers from Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat Police Station were called to the hotel at around 9pm. The woman, later identified as 31 year old Kimyong, was found on a bed inside a room. Police said the woman was half-naked, wearing long jeans that were unzipped, with a pink shirt placed over her chest. Officers noted visible injuries, including a wound to the mouth and bruising on the neck. Initial findings suggest that she had been dead for about six to eight hours before the discovery. Photo via KhaoSod Items recovered at the scene included a bottle of beer, a glass containing beer, and a knife on the bed. Kimyong’s mobile phone and underwear were found in the bathroom. Hotel staff told police the woman arrived at about 11.50am with a man on a black Honda Scoopy motorcycle with a plate 2 กฉ 8306 registered in Nakhon Si Thammarat. The pair booked the room for one night, with the man paying. At around 5pm, the man reportedly left and later returned with a bottle of beer. Staff said he left the room again at 8.56pm, telling them the woman had fainted. Staff then checked the room and found her unresponsive. Photo via Channel 8 Following the receipt from a mobile banking transfer for the hotel room, the man was identified as 50 year old Witthawat, a snooker player known locally as Sian Kluay. Investigators said the two had previously been in a relationship but had separated. Officers believe the pair arranged to meet at the hotel and may have argued. Based on evidence at the scene, police suspect the man assaulted the woman and may have used a pillow to suffocate her. Police are continuing efforts to locate Witthawat for questioning regarding the incident and possible legal action. Family honours man’s final wish with funeral dancersLegacyThree dancers were hired to perform in front of a coffin during a funeral on April 20 in Nakhon Si Thammarat, after the family said they were honouring the deceased man’s final wish. The funeral took place on the final night for 59 year old Winit at his home in Ron Phibun district, Nakhon Si Thammarat. A Facebook page livestreamed the event, which drew hundreds of viewers. After monks finished the funeral rites and made their way back to the temple, the host family hired a sound system truck and three dancers to perform in front of the coffin. People of all ages were seen watching, while the livestream was widely viewed, liked and shared. Photo via Facebook: เอก ร่อนพิบูลย์ อิฐบล็อกภาคใต้ Relatives said Winit, who died on April 15, had been a cheerful and lively man who was well known and respected in the community. They said he had previously told his family not to grieve when he died and asked for dancers to perform in front of his coffin. His body was placed at the family home for funeral rites in Ron Phibun subdistrict. On the final night, April 20, his children and relatives arranged the performance in line with that request. DailyNews reported that the cremation was scheduled for yesterday, April 21, at Wat Thepphanom Chuet in Ron Phibun district, Nakhon Si Thammarat. Photo via Facebook: เอก ร่อนพิบูลย์ อิฐบล็อกภาคใต้ The performance has attracted many comments online, with some supporting the family’s decision and others opposing it. Supporters said the family was simply honouring the deceased’s final wish and that no harm was done. Critics, however, said the performance was inappropriate for children and young people at the event, many of whom watched throughout. Some argued it could encourage unsuitable behaviour and clash with Thai cultural traditions. Elsewhere, a lively funeral was held in Loei for a 58 year old photographer known across the province, as friends and family gathered to pay respects. Rather than a sombre ceremony, the funeral reflected his upbeat personality, with mourners setting up a campsite and singing songs he loved. Woman catches, punches peeping tom filming in Surat Thani toiletLegacyA woman punched a man after catching him filming her inside a toilet at a petrol station in Surat Thani on April 16, before police were called. The incident took place at a petrol station in Baan Na Doem district after a group of women were returning from Songkran celebrations and heading back to Khian Sa district. They stopped at the station to use the toilets and the convenience store. Prae, a 27 year old woman wearing a black shirt, said she noticed a mobile phone protruding from the next stall while she was in the toilet. At first, she thought one of her friends was playing a prank. However, after her group came out and realised everyone was already outside, they called for the person in the stall to come out. Nearly 10 minutes later, a teenage male emerged. Photo via DailyNews When questioned, the man initially denied filming and said he had been hiding in the toilet from another group of teenagers. Prae, who said she was angry about being recorded, then punched him several times as her friends tried to stop her. The confrontation was recorded by the women in the group. DailyNews reported that after they asked to see his phone, the screen displayed a message saying the images had been deleted. The group also found numerous searches for pornographic websites on his phone. However, he still denied filming secret videos in the toilet at that point. Convenience store staff and petrol station workers stepped in and called the police. A complaint was later filed at Baan Na Doem Police Station. Photo via DailyNews Police said the suspect later admitted he had secretly filmed inside the toilet, apologised, and said he had deleted the clip. His phone was confiscated, while the confrontation video was later posted online as a “warning”. Responding to online comments about her punches, Prae said she had previously trained in boxing for sport and self-defence. She also warned women using public toilets, especially those alone, to stay alert and pay close attention to their surroundings. Elsewhere, officers from the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau arrested a Thai man in the southern province of Prachuap Khiri Khan for possessing and selling spycam pornography. Officials found 60,000 files of pornography in his possession. The story Woman catches, punches peeping tom filming in Surat Thani toilet as seen on Thaiger News.
