Thailand's B-team, comprising Kristhanpong Nonthakoat, Wuttinan Khamsena, and Thanapol Suatyuen, then lost decisively to Malaysia 2-0 sets (15-13, 15-10).
With the victory, Malaysia claimed their first gold medal in men's team sepak takraw at the Asian Games since 1990 in Beijing.
