Pattaya heated up as an older woman clashed with a younger woman in a brawl over a beach seat, leaving one injured. Both insisted they were simply sitting and drinking alcohol, denying any connection to voyeurism. On October 22, 2026, Lt. Chanonthon Kesornbua, Deputy Inspector of Pattaya City Police, received a report of a fight with injuries at Pattaya Beach opposite a shopping mall near the Pattaya Provincial Police Station in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung, Chonburi. Police and rescue volunteers rushed to the scene and interviewed the injured 60-year-old woman, who filed a complaint after a verbal dispute with a 24-year-old woman escalated into a physical altercation. The older woman said she had been sitting on the beach using her phone, left her bag on the seat, and went to use the restroom at the police station. Upon returning, she argued with the younger woman, leading to a scuffle that caused a deep, one-centimeter facial wound and heavy bleeding, plus abrasions on her body. The 24-year-old countered that the area is public and anyone can sit there; she claimed the older woman tried to chase her away, sparking a fierce quarrel. She also said the older woman's head injury came from her own fingernails, while she herself suffered broken nails and scratches on her arms, torso, and chest. Both parties denied any loud quarrel or voyeurism, stating the dispute was solely over the seat. Lt. Chanonthon logged the incident, sent both to the hospital, and scheduled them for formal statements after reviewing CCTV footage to determine the cause fairly.
