Urgent: Strong Winds Topple Warehouse Under Construction, Collapsing onto Workers; Two Seriously Injured
Strong winds toppled a steel warehouse frame under construction in Si Racha, Chonburi, injuring two workers with head injuries on May 8, 2025.
At approximately 3:30 PM on May 8, 2025, rescue units in Si Racha District, Chonburi Province, responded to a warehouse structure collapse at an automotive parts manufacturing facility in Nong Kham Subdistrict. Two construction workers sustained serious injuries and loss of consciousness with head lacerations and facial bleeding. Four workers were present at the scene; two others managed to jump away and escape. The collapsed steel framework also damaged two vehicles—a black HAWAL sedan and a white MG pickup truck.
According to witnesses, strong winds suddenly struck the construction site, lifting and tilting the steel framework, which then collapsed in a domino effect onto the workers below. The two injured workers were administered first aid by rescue personnel before being urgently transported to Laem Chabang and Viphavaram hospitals. Two additional vehicles sustained damage from the falling structure. Police arrived at the scene to document evidence and take preliminary statements from those involved. The root cause of the structural failure is under investigation.
