YouTuber Gun Shares Two Tips for Quitting Smoking After 12 Years
YouTuber Gun Smile quit smoking after 12 years by destroying cigarettes immediately and using the 10-minute waiting rule to overcome cravings, now 10 months smoke-free.
Popular YouTuber Gun Smile has opened up about successfully quitting smoking after 12 years of heavy use, revealing two tricks that helped him break the habit over the past 10 months. Gun, the owner of the @4MILLION_OFFICIAL channel with over 800,000 followers, shared his experience in hopes of motivating others struggling to quit.
Gun explained that he had been smoking since high school, starting with rolled cigarettes, IQOS, and eventually vaping—a habit that lasted over 12 years. Now, more than 10 months smoke-free, he shared two simple but willpower-intensive methods.
The first method is destruction: Gun deliberately destroys and throws away cigarettes or vaping devices immediately. Even when cravings hit and he considers buying more, repeatedly destroying his supplies gradually breaks the habit by creating distance from cigarettes.
The second method is the 10-minute rule: When cravings strike, Gun tells himself to wait 10 minutes and do something else, then gradually extends the waiting period to 20 minutes or an hour until the craving passes and the brain forgets the desire.
Gun concluded by saying "People who quit smoking are cool!" and warned others against giving in even once if tempted, as doing so would reset all their progress immediately.
His post has earned widespread praise from fans for his determination and as a positive health example for youth. The Thailand Health Promotion Foundation also left an encouraging comment, though it humorously misspelled his name as "Kungsmai," prompting Gun to playfully tease them about the typo.
