56-Year-Old Man Confesses to Burning Molly, a Siberian Husky Dog
On February 22, 2569 (2026), Police Major General Vara Wetchaphinan and Police Colonel Ekarat Suan San revealed that a suspect who had been evading a Songkhla Provincial Court warrant was wanted for arson and animal cruelty. Police Colonel Pongsawat Intason and Police Major Ekkaphop Musikapak, along with Songkhla City Police, arrested Mr. Charoen (last name withheld), 56, from Phatthalung Province.
According to the report, on February 13, 2569, a white and brown 2-year-old Siberian Husky named Molly escaped from her owner, Mr. Somchai, 52. On February 15, neighbors found the dog near a water reservoir with severe burns, appearing to have been doused with oil and set on fire. The owner took the dog to a clinic and reported the incident.
On February 21, authorities identified Mr. Charoen as the perpetrator. When questioned, he confessed to the crime. Police collected evidence and obtained an arrest warrant from Songkhla Provincial Court before taking him into custody.
