26-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck by Train in Nakhon Si Thammarat
NAKHON SI THAMMARAT — On February 16, 2026, a 26-year-old man was killed after being struck by a train while lying across railway tracks in Phra Phrom district on Sunday morning. Pol. Col. Thatthep Klam-aem, superintendent of Phra Phrom Police Station, reported that officers were alerted to the incident at 10:30 near the tracks before Mamuang Song Ton Station in Na San subdistrict. Emergency responders from Maharaj Nakhon Si Thammarat Hospital and Pracha Ruamjai Foundation volunteers arrived at the scene, finding Bangkok–Nakhon Si Thammarat Train No. 85 stopped on the tracks. Investigators revealed that the train was traveling from Bangkok to Nakhon Si Thammarat, approximately 5 km from the station near the Phra Phrom and Mueang district boundary, when the driver spotted the man on the rails and was unable to stop in time. The deceased, a 26-year-old resident of Mamuang Song Ton subdistrict, Mueang district, was identified. His relatives have provided statements to investigators at Phra Phrom Police Station and taken the body for religious rites. Police have not disclosed additional details about the circumstances leading to the incident.
