Exposing Scammer Network: Military, Police, and FBI Raid Cambodian Border
On February 2, 2026, Major General Theeranant Nantakhwang, Chief of Military Intelligence, led a delegation of military attachés from 20 countries, including the United States, Malaysia, and Vietnam, along with FBI officials, to conduct an Open House inspection at the Thai-Cambodian border crossing in Chong Chom, Surin Province. The mission focused on tracking border situations and combating transnational crime, particularly scammer operations that impact multiple countries and undermine regional security. Two main scammer bases were identified in Orussey: Orussey Resort and Royal Hill. The Royal Hill complex consisted of three 6-story buildings used as accommodations and workspaces for scammers from various countries like Vietnam, Singapore, and India. Investigators discovered extensive evidence of fraudulent activities, including fake government agency setups, mock police stations, and banks used to deceive victims. Major General Theeranant emphasized that the operation aimed to expose criminal activities affecting humanity. They found a systematic scammer center with detailed operational structures and collected comprehensive evidence. The raid also revealed potential military connections, with observations of multiple drones and military personnel movements in the area.
