Dramatic Fire at Rubber Cushion Warehouse in Thalang Brings 7 Fire Trucks to Extinguish Blaze
On February 18, 2024, a fire broke out at a rubber cushion warehouse located in the Thung Sua Khwan Road soi in Srisunthorn Subdistrict, Thalang District, Phuket Province. The incident caused significant alarm among local residents, as the warehouse contained highly flammable rubber materials that quickly ignited with massive plumes of black smoke rising into the sky.
After receiving the emergency call, firefighters from Srisunthorn Municipality deployed 3 fire trucks and water carriers, and coordinated additional support from Cheng Talay Municipality, Thep Krasattri Administrative Organization, and Pak Klock Municipality, bringing the total emergency response to 7 vehicles.
Chalermpon Kerdsub, also known as 'Mayor Aum' of Srisunthorn Municipality, personally arrived on-site to oversee fire control operations. Firefighters spent approximately 20 minutes battling the blaze before successfully containing it and preventing spread to nearby areas, with the warehouse expected to be completely destroyed.
Preliminary reports indicate no injuries or casualties, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation by relevant authorities.
