Nonthaburi Slammed: Heavy Rain and Strong Winds Topple Trees, Power Poles, and Billboards

A severe storm hit Nonthaburi province from the early evening, causing significant damage in multiple areas, especially in Mueang Nonthaburi and Pak Kret districts. Trees were uprooted, power poles collapsed, advertisement billboards were blown away, and shopping mall walls were damaged. At 7:30 PM, rescue teams responded to an incident at Srithanya Hospital where a large electrical pole had fallen onto a motorcycle parking area, trapping a 20-year-old male student. Rescue personnel faced challenges with live electrical wires and a drainage canal, ultimately using a small crane and rescue workers on a sling to successfully extract the student. The student had been stranded for approximately 3 hours, waiting nervously after witnessing the power pole crash near him while he was preparing to retrieve his motorcycle.
