Amulet Thief Caught in Koh Samui: Man Arrested for Stealing Valuable Buddhist Amulets from Shopping Mall
Police from Rattanathibet Police Station tracked down and arrested Jaruwat, 36, who was wanted on a robbery warrant. The suspect was caught at the ferry pier in Koh Samui while attempting to flee. The case originated when a prominent amulet trader named Toon reported that Jaruwat had borrowed six rare Buddhist amulets worth over 200,000 baht, promising to transfer payment but never doing so. Upon investigation, police discovered Jaruwat has a criminal history including six fraud cases and one theft case. He admitted to being hired by someone else to collect the amulets using a fake payment slip. Jaruwat was brought back to Rattanathibet Police Station to face charges and is expected to be prosecuted for further pending cases.
