Mentally Ill Monk Carrying Knife Enters Villager's Home, Locals Help Restrain Him

On February 13, 2024, local officials reported that a monk aged 55-60 was found walking with a large knife near villagers' homes in Nakhon Ratchasima province. The village head and local security team managed to calm the monk and search him, finding no illegal items. They subsequently transported him to Phimai Hospital for psychiatric treatment. Villagers explained that the monk had arrived from another area to participate in a religious retreat at Boon Song Anusorn Temple before displaying unusual behavior, walking back and forth near residential areas while carrying a knife.
