Navy Mobilizes to Assist Cargo Ship Crew at Risk of Sinking Near Ko Kaeo Noi Island
The Navy has rapidly mobilized full assistance after receiving an alert about the cargo ship SEALLOYD ARC, a Panamanian vessel of 4,339 tons, at risk of sinking near Ko Kaeo Noi Island. The Navy's Region 3 Operations Center immediately dispatched naval vessels and aircraft to the area, coordinating with relevant agencies for search and rescue operations. They integrated efforts to help the crew, monitor potential fuel leaks, and prevent environmental damage. A joint War Room was established with provincial and related agencies to manage the situation closely. All 16 crew members were successfully and safely rescued and brought to shore. The Navy reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring safety for maritime personnel and resources, providing immediate assistance 24 hours a day while protecting national maritime interests.
