Two French Tourists Fined for Indecent Act on Phuket Tuk-Tuk
Phuket police took action against two French tourists after a social media video exposed their inappropriate behavior on a local tuk-tuk. The clip, which circulated online on January 30, 2026, showed the tourists allegedly having sex while traveling over Patong Hill, causing significant public outcry and damaging the resort island's reputation. Kathu police received photos and information from a concerned citizen documenting the tourists undressing and committing an indecent act on a Phuket-registered tuk-tuk. The tuk-tuk driver, Kittisak Phonbamrung, confirmed he had transported the tourists to a hotel in Ratsada subdistrict, Mueang district. On January 31, 2026, police identified and located the two suspects: Valentine Celine Johanne and Crouzier Wesley Franck, both French nationals. They were brought in for questioning and charged with public indecency for exposing themselves and engaging in lewd behavior. Both tourists admitted to the offense and requested to pay a fine to resolve the case. Police imposed a fine of 5,000 baht on each of them, effectively closing the investigation.
