A popular Facebook page called 'Sor Pao - This Matters' reported that a Chonburi MP candidate distributed lottery tickets to market traders in a Pattaya market on January 31st. The government lottery tickets came with messages encouraging support for a specific political party and featured an image of the deputy party leader who owns the market, raising questions about potential election law violations. When reporters contacted the Chonburi Election Commission, Detective Pravit Satapan from the investigation unit confirmed that the individual is a party deputy leader but not an MP candidate. The Election Commission pledged to quickly investigate the claims, noting that Chonburi has received numerous election fraud complaints.
