Cross-Border Trade in 2025 Reaches Historic High of Over 1.04 Trillion Baht

The Department of Foreign Trade announced that border and cross-border trade in 2025 totaled 1,937,629 million baht, growing 6.7% from the previous year. Exports reached 1,063,104 million baht (+1.4%), while imports were 874,525 million baht (+14.0%), resulting in a trade surplus of 188,579 million baht for Thailand. Despite significant challenges from border conflicts with Cambodia and unrest in Myanmar, which caused border crossing closures and trade contractions, cross-border trade expanded dramatically by 24.4% to over 1.04 trillion baht, marking a historic high. For 2026, continued growth is expected, particularly in electronics, driven by increasing global market demand and ongoing investment in electronic industries and data centers.
