Student Denied Diploma After Tuition Payment Discrepancies
CHONBURI — A vocational college in Chonburi province is pursuing legal action against a former deputy director after more than 10 students reported missing tuition payments in the institution's financial system. Miriam, a 25-year-old student, filed a complaint with Nong Prue Police Station after completing her foreign languages program in 2024. She claims she transferred tuition payments to a bank account provided by the deputy director and received what appeared to be legitimate receipts. However, the college refused to issue her diploma, stating that her payments were not recorded in their official system and she still owed 22,000 baht. When Miriam presented her receipts, the college claimed the documents were forged. The former deputy director has resigned, and more than 10 students experienced similar issues, though many have since resolved their cases. A senior academic official confirmed the college is taking legal action and assisting affected students in recovering funds and processing their diplomas. Miriam stated that her case has remained unresolved for over two years, prompting her to seek media attention after exhausting other resolution channels.
