The Department of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Culture, is launching an ambitious cultural tourism activity called the "Path of Faith: 5 Great Monarchs' Relic Pilgrimage in Tak Province" under the religious tourism project for fiscal year 2024. The event will be held in collaboration with local cultural networks at cultural sites in Mueang Tak, Sam Ngao, and the historic Phra Borommathat Temple in Ko Taphao Subdistrict, Ban Tak District, Tak Province. The primary goals are to stimulate secondary city tourism according to government policy and drive the "Thai Thai" (Unseen Thai Thai) initiative by converting religious capital into economic opportunities for sustainable community income. Tak Province is considered a land of significant historical and strong spiritual importance. Chaiyaphon Suk-iem, Director-General of the Department of Religious Affairs, revealed that this faith journey focuses on connecting cultural heritage sites that reflect the royal grace of five monarchs and the beliefs surrounding birth-year relics. The project highlights 8 must-visit locations, including historic temples, museums, and cultural sites that showcase the rich history and spiritual significance of the region. Particularly interesting is the belief that visiting the birth-year relic (associated with the Horse year) is not just a traditional practice, but a way to symbolically enhance one's spiritual energy, overcome obstacles, and ensure a smooth and stable life in 2024. The initiative also aims to preserve local heritage, promote community pride, and use religious and cultural sites as centers for transmitting moral wisdom and local knowledge.
