On February 8, 2024, social media widely shared an audio conversation of villagers calling a person believed to be a political party campaign worker. They were demanding payment promised for voting for a specific political candidate in Krabi's 1st electoral district. The conversation revealed that over 1,000 people had been recruited, but not paid as initially promised. One party claimed the phone numbers were collected from outside the electoral district, preventing payment. Following the clip's release, some social media users accused campaign workers of withholding money. The Krabi Election Commission has seen the clip and expects the clip's owner to bring affected villagers for an official investigation.
