Warning for Neck Stretchers: American Woman Nearly Disabled After Neck Cracking Habit
Be careful, neck stretchers! An American woman has shared a life-changing experience that almost left her disabled because of her habit of cracking her neck. One day, while driving home, KayLynne Felthager felt a headache and instinctively stretched her neck to the right to relieve tension. This had become a daily habit after work, but this time was different - she felt intense pain after cracking her neck.
The neck pain was unusual and didn't subside even after several days, which made her uncomfortable. Instead of seeing a doctor, she relied on over-the-counter pain medication. Five days later, her condition dramatically worsened.
While applying makeup in the kitchen and preparing for a date, she suddenly experienced a bright flash of light that caused her to lose vision. Even intense blinking didn't help. After about 15 minutes, her sight returned. She thought it was a one-time strange occurrence, but soon after, she felt numbness and tingling on her entire right side and became incoherent. Her husband immediately rushed her to the hospital.
At the hospital, a CT scan revealed she had a stroke. After discussing her neck pain with medical staff, doctors explained that an unintentional neck stretch had caused an arterial tear, which subsequently led to a blood clot reaching her brain. Fortunately, the blood clot dissolved quickly, and no surgery was necessary.
She has now fully recovered, but the experience changed her perspective about her body and made her realize how quickly things can go wrong. The neck is an extremely sensitive area, and even the simplest movements, like turning the head too quickly, can potentially lead to a stroke.
