Khao Kheow Open Zoo Joins Forces with Bangchak Sriracha to Host 'Love Hornbill Day'

On February 13, 2026, Khao Kheow Open Zoo collaborated with Bangchak Sriracha Public Company Limited to host the annual 'Love Hornbill Day' under the theme 'Telling the World About Love'. The event was held at the zoo's large bird cage area, aimed at raising awareness about hornbill conservation. The hornbill is seen as a symbol of true love and an indicator of forest ecosystem health. NarongwitChodchoy, director of Khao Kheow Open Zoo, presided over the event, with Chainarong Punkong, head of conservation, research and animal health, reporting on the project's importance. The event included learning activities, an exhibition about hornbills, waste management campaigns, and creative conservation-focused activities for youth. Bangchak Sriracha donated 100,000 baht and artificial nesting cavities to support hornbill research and breeding efforts. The organizations hope to drive biodiversity conservation and encourage social awareness about preserving natural resources.
