Mina Police Station Commander Launches Investigation after Suspect Dies in Custody

Police Station Commander Somphot Thongmun expressed condolences to the deceased's family and confirmed he has ordered a thorough investigation. After the suspect was arrested on the evening of February 16, he was brought in for questioning at 8:30 PM, during which he appeared visibly stressed and mentioned that his psychiatric medication had run out. The suspect was placed in a holding cell at 1:30 AM, with instructions for officers to monitor him closely. At 5:55 AM, he was found to have taken his own life, with another detainee in the same cell claiming to have been asleep and unaware of the events. The police station has five holding cells, and an investigation will be conducted to determine if there were any lapses in monitoring the suspect.
