Man Arrested for Firing Shots at Local Politician's Home
In Samut Prakan province, a 48-year-old man named Phorathep Damrongkittikul was arrested after allegedly breaking into the home of politician Chonsawat Asavahame and firing four shots into the air. The suspect, who was found with two blank-firing guns, a homemade firearm, ammunition, and crystal methamphetamine, claimed to be possessed by a deity during his arrest.
The incident began when the suspect entered the property claiming to have been hired to dig soil, then fired shots when confronted by the caretaker, Weerapoj Wimolchayakorn. Police tracked and arrested him at a nearby housing estate, using a stun gun and pepper spray when he became aggressive during the reconstruction of the incident. He remains in police custody as investigations continue.
