Anutin Campaigns at Bang Nam Phueng Market, Traders Say They Want 2,400 Baht Instead of Thousands
On January 31st, 2024, at 11:00 AM, Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party and prime ministerial candidate, visited Bang Nam Phueng Market to support parliamentary candidates from Samut Prakan's 8 districts.
Upon arrival, the abbot of Bang Nam Phueng Temple presented Anutin with a replica Buddha statue, which he received after paying respects to the Vessavan shrine. He then walked through the market, meeting traders and shoppers. Many people requested photos, and some market vendors discussed the "Half-Half Plus" government subsidy program.
Some traders directly told Anutin they no longer wanted thousands of baht, but preferred a 2,400 baht payment. Anutin confidently responded, "Easily done. If we form the government, this project will definitely return."
Market vendors blessed Anutin, wishing him to become prime minister again, believing people would be more comfortable. Anutin smiled in response. During his market walk, he sampled various foods, supported local vendors, and even fed koi fish. At one point, a vendor offered him a local delicacy to help him stay awake, as he mentioned being slightly sleepy from lack of sleep. The atmosphere was lively and enthusiastic.
