Police Shocked: Suspects Flee with Bag, Leaving Villagers with Name Lists Behind
At 1:30 PM on February 6, 2569, police from Phun Phin Police Station in Surat Thani province received a report of vote-buying in the Mung Pattana alley. Investigation officers rushed to the scene and discovered five men and women carrying bags who quickly fled in a pickup truck, leaving behind four villagers sitting at a marble table with handwritten lists of names, addresses, phone numbers, and voting districts.
At 3:00 PM, Deputy Police Commander Sombat Cham-saeng and Election Commission Director Palat Nilnaowarat jointly investigated the incident. Preliminary findings revealed that all suspects were contacted by political party representatives to list names of acquaintances and close contacts, with 100 baht paid per name and 1,000 baht for each registered voter.
