Authorities Arrest 18-Year-Old Laotian Woman Selling Pork Without Work Permit
On February 13, 2026, officials from the Chumphon Provincial Internal Security Operations Command, led by Lt. Col. Nipot Inmai, coordinated with police, local administration, and labor office staff to arrest Ms. Tai, an 18-year-old Laotian national. She was caught selling pork at a market stall in Moo 1, Don Yang Subdistrict, Pathiu District, Chumphon Province, with 60 baht worth of fresh meat.
After investigating foreign workers in the area, officials discovered Ms. Tai did not have a valid work permit. She admitted to working at the pork stall for 6-7 months, earning 351 baht per day from a Thai employer.
Authorities charged her with working without a permit under Section 8 of the Foreign Worker Management Act and staying in the kingdom without authorization. She was taken to the local police station for further legal proceedings.
