Mongkol Kitti Urges Constitutional Court to Rule on Election Ballots with Barcodes as Unconstitutional
Mongkol Kitti Suksintharanon, a prime ministerial candidate from the New Alternative Party, filed a complaint with the Ombudsman to investigate the Election Commission's placement of barcodes on party-list and district election ballots. These barcodes could potentially reveal who voted for whom, which he argues violates Constitutional Article 85 regarding direct and secret voting. Kitti suggested the Ombudsman has the power to refer the matter to the Administrative Court or Constitutional Court immediately. He highlighted multiple election irregularities, including discrepancies in ballot colors, vote recordings, and online vote tallies. While acknowledging the Election Commission's authority, he criticized their handling of the election's transparency and called for NIDA polling center to close and pursue other work, dramatically describing their performance as deserving a 'D dog with an F grade'.
