Despite sitting in the VIP section, the fan was surrounded by hostile home fans and had to be escorted to safety by players and security. The fan, known as 'Lawyer Joe' Tasanai Laopoonpitaya, described the escalating tension as Persib Bandung fans began throwing water bottles and firecrackers. Military and police personnel advised him to change clothes and move to a more secure area. Player number 7 of Persib (Beckham Putra Nugraha) eventually helped guide the Ratchaburi fans to safety in the players' changing room.
