Thai Police Arrest Two Women for Drug Crimes on Koh Phangan
SURAT THANI — On January 30, 2024, provincial police arrested two women for drug-related offenses during the notorious Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan. The operation was led by Surat Thani provincial police chief Maj. Gen. Suwat Suksri and senior commanders.
The first suspect, Prakaiporn "If" Anupradit, 31, from Udon Thani, was arrested in Ban Tai subdistrict. Police seized 0.05 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 16 methamphetamine tablets. She confessed to the charges and was charged with illegal possession of Category 1 narcotics, drug use, and driving under the influence.
The second suspect, Wanvisak "Phueng" Pengcharoen, 28, a local Koh Phangan resident, was arrested in Moo 2 subdistrict. Authorities recovered 1.21 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 56 methamphetamine tablets. She was charged with possession of Category 1 narcotics for sale, drug trafficking, and illegal drug use.
The police operation was part of a broader national effort to combat drug-related crimes, particularly targeting tourist areas during high-traffic events.
