Chulalongkorn Halal Science Center Concludes Green Economy Marketing Activities in United Arab Emirates
The Halal Science Center of Chulalongkorn University conducted Green Economy Marketing and Market Expansion activities in the Middle East, bringing 6 SME entrepreneurs to the United Arab Emirates from January 27-31, 2024, with objectives of expanding trade opportunities, raising international standards for Thai halal products, and building potential partnership networks in the GCC region. The Thai delegation, led by Dr. Pornpimol Muhammed, Halal Science Center Director, along with Dr. Azzaree Suksuvarn, Ms. Jasmin Manee, and Ms. Firdaows Boonmalert, engaged in proactive marketing, business negotiations, and market exploration in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The mission's core focus was B2B business negotiations at the Fairmont Dubai Hotel, featuring lively discussions with major UAE investors and importers. The activities helped build confidence in Thai halal production standards and product quality, establishing business cooperation foundations through trade memorandums of agreement (MOA) in food, health products, and cosmetics sectors - high-growth categories in the Arab region. The delegation also met with the Consul General in Dubai and the Chargé d'Affaires in Abu Dhabi to discuss market promotion strategies, business expansion opportunities, and import regulations. They conducted in-depth market surveys at Gulfood 2026 in Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai Expo City, studying global food and beverage market trends, competitor products, packaging innovations, and consumer behaviors in premium markets. The activity's success highlighted the potential of Thai halal products in international trade, with the Halal Science Center hoping that the acquired information, cooperation networks, and experiences will provide a strong foundation for sustainable growth of Thailand's halal economy.
