Paul George Banned for 25 Games for Prohibited Substance Violation
Philadelphia 76ers forward Paul George has been suspended for 25 matches and will not receive salary during the ban period due to a violation of prohibited substance regulations.
George, aged 35, stated, "Recently, I have been dealing with mental health issues, and I made a mistake by taking medication that violates the rules during my personal treatment. I take responsibility for my actions and apologize for this error."
This season, George has played 27 games for the 76ers, averaging 16 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per match. Due to this suspension, he will not return until the end of March, by which time only 10 games of the regular season will remain.
George is known for his prominent career, having been selected to the NBA All-Star team 9 times and being part of the gold medal-winning US national team at the 2016 Olympic Games.
