Sahachai and SCGC Join Forces to Deliver 'Earth-Friendly Chairs' for Bangkok's Sustainable City Project

Sahachai Promotion and SCGC have developed an innovative recycling solution that transforms used plastic packaging into 150 'Earth-friendly chairs' for Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. The chairs were handed over at the Ratanakosin Room of Bangkok City Hall, with Bangkok Governor Chatcahat Sitthipan receiving the donation. The collaborative project supports the city's 'No Trash' initiative, demonstrating a concrete approach to plastic recycling. Each chair is made from 200 recycled food containers, highlighting the potential of repurposing used plastic. The initiative has significant environmental impact, reducing plastic waste by 9,000 kilograms and cutting greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 17,000 kg of carbon equivalent - comparable to planting 770 trees. The chairs were created under the new brand "Bioplustiq" by Sahachai Promotion, in partnership with SCG Chemicals (SCGC). The companies aim to showcase how serious collaboration can transform used packaging into valuable products and encourage better waste separation behaviors among citizens. Sahachai Jitboontaveesuks, the company's CEO, emphasized that this project aligns with their goal of developing sustainable industries, noting their recent recognition with the Prime Minister's Small and Medium Industry Award for innovative and responsible business practices.
