Special Needs Teen Drowns After Epileptic Seizure While Swimming

At 3:00 PM on February 7, 2024, police from Khong District in Nakhon Ratchasima were notified of a missing child in a swimming pool in Ban Prang Subdistrict. Rescue divers from Hook 31 Korat team arrived and searched the pool. They found the 17-year-old special needs teen from Noen Sa-nga District, Chaiyaphum Province, lying face down at the bottom of the pool. The victim had gone swimming with two other children, removing his shirt and sandals at the pool's edge. During swimming, he suffered an epileptic seizure, and the smaller children could not help him to shore. He ultimately drowned. Authorities recovered the body and will proceed with legal protocols before releasing the remains to the family for religious funeral rites.
