Urgent Manhunt Launched After Knife Attack Kills Immigration Police Officer
On February 1, 2024, police in Samut Prakan received a report of a violent assault near a U-turn point close to the Chang Erawan BTS Skytrain station in Pak Nam subdistrict.
At the scene, officers found Sergeant Sutthiwut Hoklang from Udon Thani Immigration Police lying on the ground with a knife wound to his right side. Rescue workers attempted to revive him by performing CPR and administering heart stimulant drugs before rushing him to Samut Prakan Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Witnesses reported that the incident began with a traffic dispute. The victim was driving and almost collided with the suspect while making a U-turn. An argument erupted, and the suspect, who was on a black and red Honda Wave 110 motorcycle, pulled out a knife and stabbed the officer before fleeing towards Bang Duan.
Preliminary investigations are underway, with police reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses to track down the suspect. They are working to identify and arrest the perpetrator to bring him to justice.
