Border Trade Expo 2026 @Chiang Rai Launches to Boost Border Economy

The Department of International Trade launched the Border Trade Expo 2026 in Chiang Rai, positioning the province as an economic gateway connecting the Mekong region. Noppadol Kanthamas, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Trade, highlighted the event's goal of elevating the competitive capabilities of Thai entrepreneurs and driving economic value at both local and national levels. The expo, taking place from February 12-16, 2026, at Wing 416 of the Royal Thai Air Force, received strong support from both public and private sectors in Chiang Rai. The event is more than just a marketplace, serving as a crucial platform for business cooperation and sustainable border economic strength. Chiang Rai is positioned as a regional economic center with cultural diversity and investment potential, acting as a key trade gateway connecting Thailand to neighboring countries and the Mekong region. The expo features four main activities: showcasing local products, networking opportunities, knowledge exchange, and creative cultural events including youth product competitions and daily concerts.
