PACC Launches Investigation into Ice Hockey Association's Excessive Budget Claims for SEA Games

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) sent a team led by Secretary-General Phoomivisal Kasemsuk to investigate budget irregularities in the Thailand Ice Hockey Association's SEA Games venue rental claims on February 4, 2024. The investigation revealed three key potential issues: 1) Excessive monthly venue rental claims of around 700,000 baht, compared to actual usage costs of 200,000-300,000 baht, 2) Discrepancies in national athletes' per diems, and 3) Claims for foreign coach salaries and accommodations without actual hiring. PACC officials emphasized their commitment to a transparent, swift investigation that protects the interests of national athletes. The arena's owner, Jumpon Krusakdapong, stated he initiated the complaint to maintain sports standards and support the development of ice hockey, not for financial gain.
