Arrest of Perverted Taxi Driver Who Sexually Assaulted Unconscious University Student

Police Special Operations Division (DSI) arrested a taxi driver who sexually assaulted a female university student after she fell asleep returning from a bar in the Ratchayothin area. On February 4th, 2026, a team led by senior police officers captured Sangwan, 51, based on an arrest warrant from Phra Khanong Criminal Court. The victim reported being picked up around 3:00 AM, telling the driver to head to Ekkamai, and then losing consciousness. She woke up at 7:00 AM in a naked state in the Khlong Tan area, realizing she had been sexually violated. The suspect ultimately confessed, claiming he was possessed by some inexplicable force that led him to commit the crime.
