Drugged Robbery Suspect Arrested: 84-Year-Old Victim Unconscious for 3 Days, Over 250,000 Baht Stolen

Police have arrested Prasarn (Sannakorn), 69, for drugging and robbing an 84-year-old man on a public bus. The suspect allegedly mixed 10 sleeping pills into yogurt milk, causing the elderly victim to lose consciousness for over three days while stealing 249,500 baht in valuables including gold necklaces and amulets. Security camera footage captured the suspect approaching the elderly man at a bus stop, helping him onto Bus 511, and using a swift hand gesture to apparently hypnotize the victim. The suspect confessed to this crime and claimed to have committed similar robberies 4-5 times previously on public transportation. Police Deputy Commissioner Theeradech ThammaSuthee noted that the criminal specifically targeted a vulnerable elderly victim, using chemical substances to render him unconscious for an extended period.
