Youth National Tennis Selection Tournament Kicks Off with Exciting Matches

The Tennis Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage is hosting the national youth tennis selection tournament for under-12, under-14, and under-16 age groups from January 31 to February 5 at the National Tennis Development Center in Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi. The tournament features group-stage matches with four groups of four players each, playing in a round-robin format (best of 3 sets with tiebreaks). The top two players from each group will advance to the knockout stages, leading to semi-finals and finals. In the under-14 boys' singles category, Natt Chansontikul from Bangkok won his first match against Prasur Udomchok 2-0 (6-3, 6-2). In the women's under-14 singles, Anwee Phaisalphanuwong from Chiang Mai defeated Lan Lalin Warotayanont 2-0 (6-0, 6-1). The tournament also saw matches in the under-12 girls' singles category, with players from various provinces competing across different groups, showcasing the depth of young tennis talent in Thailand.
