Kasetsart University Thrilled! Orchid Competition at 'Agriculture Fair 69' Breaks Records, Reflects Farmer Confidence

Kasetsart University's Faculty of Agriculture has achieved remarkable success in its annual orchid competition on January 31, 2026. The event welcomed participants from the Orchid Alliance regions (Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, Ratchaburi, Bangkok, and Kanchanaburi), with 414 orchid sets comprising over 2,070 flower stems. The competition demonstrates farmers' commitment to maintaining production standards amid global market challenges. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Patchareeya Boonkorkaew, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, highlighted the exceptional participation, emphasizing the event's role in showcasing innovation and value creation in Thai orchid cultivation. The competition featured innovative hybrid varieties like 'Ashima x Bangkok Frame' and celebrated young talent from scientific schools, reflecting the ongoing knowledge transfer in orchid cultivation. The university aims to use this platform to connect markets and elevate agricultural knowledge, with the competition results serving as a crucial research database. The event culminates with a free orchid distribution on February 4, 2026, to share happiness and appreciation for the Thai orchid industry's sustainable growth.
