On February 6, 2024, police were alerted to an incident where Sophee Laota, 46, was critically injured by an arrow at his home in Ban Nok Yueng Village, Mueang Kae Subdistrict, Satuk District. The arrow, believed to be from a fishing bow, entered the back left side of his neck approximately 7 cm deep. Fortunately, the arrow missed his windpipe, which could have been fatal. His wife, Chuang Chanthalum, 49, reported that her husband was casually browsing his phone on a hammock after dinner when he suddenly cried out. The village headman noted the arrow appeared to have been fired from the road, and police are investigating whether this was an intentional attack or an accident, with no clear motive determined.
