Hot-Tempered Man Arrested After Shooting Victim During Traffic Dispute

At around 1:30 PM on February 19, 2024, police at Tao Poon Station received a report of a violent altercation involving a shooting near Bridge 99 in the Bang Sue district of Bangkok. Upon arrival, officers found Athorn, the victim, shot in the left leg. Investigations revealed the suspect as Suriyawong, 31, who was driving a gray pickup truck with license plate 2ขถ 6591. Police tracked down Suriyawong to his home in Nonthaburi, where he was arrested. During questioning, Suriyawong admitted to the shooting, stating the incident began after a traffic dispute where they drove against each other and had an argument. He was charged with assault, carrying an unauthorized firearm, and discharging a weapon in a public area.
